I AM THAT

The seeker is he who is in search of himself.

Give up all questions except one: 'Who am I?'
After all, the only fact you are sure of is that you are.
The 'I am' is certain. The 'I am this' is not.
Struggle to find out what you are in reality.

To know what you are, you must first investigate
and know what you are not.

Discover all that you are not--
body, feelings, thoughts, time, space, this or that--
nothing, concrete or abstract, which you perceive can be you.
The very act of perceiving shows that you are not what you perceive.

The clearer you understand that on the level of mind you can be described in negative terms only, the quicker will you come to the end of your search and realize that you are the limitless being.

Hi there, Nisargadatta is my Guru, or rather was my Guru, because the inner Guru takes you to the outer, the outer Guru brings you to the inner. Nisargadatta reflects supreme wisdom. He does not impose any belief-system onto you, he shows you, how to look inside of you, to only believe in what you are aware of and how to transcend it. You can solely work with what you are aware of, only what is there can be transcended, so therefore you don't have to find out anything, just look at what is there. What is not there, what you are not aware of, cannot be transcended, and what is not there does not have to be transcended. Thoughts can be transcended, pictures in your mind and symbols, and even so called real objects are symbols, are thoughts, for the material world is not the world you live in. What you have to transcend are your own thoughts, your own symbols. But then, why transcend, why transcend what you are creating, what you have created, simply stop creating, what you have created. Stop the object as a thought, stop the thought-object you believe to be your not-self. Integration means healing means ultimate psychotherapy and integration means realizing the non-self actually belonging to the self. And realizing simply means seeing it as your own creation, realizing your responsibility for your own creations. If you have created it, and don't like it, then just stop the thought, stop the creation, for it belongs to you, for it is your creation. Whose permission do your symbols need in order to fade away? Only yours. And the symbols being superimposed onto so called real objects, whose permission do they require in order to survive? Yours, only yours. Purity of space is required, purity of soul, for only total purity means total detachment.
